According to the records available to the editor three men of the 1st Brigade earned the Medal of Honor.  1LT James A. Gardner, Sp/4 Dale E. Wayrynen and SFC Webster Anderson.  LT Gardner is featured in this issue.  The remaining two will be prominent in future issues.

SUBSCRIBERS     Page 14 - 17

A list of those who have subscribed to THE DIPLOMAT AND WARRIOR shows that more subscribers are needed.  Break even for the number of pages and quality of paper depicted by this magazine is 500 subscribers.  This list has the names received on or before June 10, 1998.  Those received after that date will be published in the September issue.  All efforts to gather names of 1st Brigade  veterans are being used.  If you have the address of one or more veterans who served in the brigade, please send it to the address inside front cover.

THE DIPLOMAT AND WARRIOR, VIET NAM ISSUES     Page 18 & 19

This issue has a reproduction of a page from THE DIPLOMAT AND WARRIOR published in Viet Nam, in the centerfold.  All issues will have this reproduction, until the limited copies of the brigade newspaper  in our files are exhausted.

BOOK REVIEW     Page 20

The review of SPECIAL MEN, by Dennis Foley, in this issue was a happy happenstance.  The book was in a book store and was purchased and read just in time for this magazine.  Too late for this issue, Larry E. Forrest (an original LRRP with the 1st Brigade who furnished information about the original 1st Brigade LRRP Teams) sent a copy of the book SIX SILENT MEN by Reynel Martinez.  It will be reviewed in the September issue.

REUNION STORY     Page 22 & 23

The 6th Bi-Annual Reunion of the 1st Brigade, (Separate), in the “Clarksville - Fort Campbell” area was an unqualified success.  More stories and photos will be used in subsequent issues.
